2nd, 3rd & 4th Grades

If you're looking for a classroom that will open new worlds for your 2nd, 3rd or 4th grader, then you'll be very pleased to place them with Mrs. Lawrence. A veteran teacher at PCAS for the past 20 years, Mrs. Lawrence creates a spirit of discovery, leading the students to take their newly developed skills and apply them to investigating the world around them. She says that her main emphasis is preparing students to be problem-solvers. So much of the world around us requires us to think and adjust to new situations, so being able to respond creatively is a main focus in this classroom. Early successes lead to greater motivation, and this teacher is seeking to develop self-motivated students. Mrs. Lawrence also works diligently to build a resource of treasures in the students' spiritual learning.

Memory verses, Bible-story videos, and drama presentations all contribute to giving each chilld an extensive knowledge of the scriptures. Yet, more than this, Mrs. Lawrence encourages each student to know Jesus as a personal friend and Savior, and to develop a very real friendship with Him in their early years.

Mrs. Lawrence received her bachelors degree in Education from Southern Adventist University in Tennessee, and has dedicated her career to Adventist schools in Illinois and Florida. She is married to Alan, and enjoys music, reading, cooking, biking, and walking.

Having your child in Mrs. Lawrence's classroom will give them a solid academic experience, and build within them a love of learning and exploring.
